* Substance Abuse Treatment is provided by licensed clinicians skilled in patient centered therapy. Treatment is based on best practice protocols including *The Matrix Model of Treatment and Living In Balance. We offer both Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient services including Deferred Prosecution, Dual Disorder Support, Alcohol and Drug Information School, Professional Intervention Services and specialized Suboxone Opiate Recovery Programs. *The Matrix Model is a comprehensive behavioral treatment approach that combines behavioral therapy, family education, individual counseling, 12-step support, drug testing, and encouragement for non drug-related activities. This protocol has been shown to be especially effective in reducing methamphetamine abuse.
* Seeking Safety (Best Practices) is a protocol for patient's who are in need of services for trauma or abuse. The protocol offers a variety of strategies to deal effectively with emotions related to trauma. The program does not focus on the trauma itself, but teaches positive ways to prevent relapsing behaviors. The program is for women only and is facilitated by Bonnie Allen, MA, CDP.
* Youth Programs are based on motivational interviewing and stages of change theory. For youth who have not developed abuse or dependency upon drugs and/or alcohol, we use an early intervention protocol called TEEN INTERVENE. This is a best practice program from Hazeldon. It is a four session program that includes parents or caregivers. Youth needing more intensive services are either placed in outpatient treatment or are assisted with access to inpatient treatment. The Teen Matrix Model curriculum is used for youth in intensive outpatient treatment. Our youth specialist, Beverly Carman, CDPT offers Youth Early Intervention, Abuse and Dependency programming.
* Problem Gambling Treatment is supported by the Washington State Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse and is provided by our certified Gambling Specialists.Problem Gambling services include individual, group, and family counseling.
* Suboxone - Opiate Recovery Treatment is provided by Drs. Adam Kartman, Gil Traylor and Howard Liebrand. This program specifically targets opiate dependency and provides medical management coupled with therapy to enhance patient recovery efforts. Programming is based on the best practices curriculum, Living In Balance and includes individual, group and family counseling.Patients in this program are placed on a color code call in phone line and are subject to random pill counts and urinalysis submissions.
* ADIS - Alcohol and Other Drug Information School is for clients who have a DUI court requirement to complete an informational class on drug and alcohol abuse. ADIS is facilitated by a certified Chemical Dependency Professional and includes a workbook, powerpoint presentations, individual and group discussions. Following the class students receive a certificate of completion and information is sent to their referral agent. Information may also be sent to the Department of Licensing if requested. Island Adult and Youth ADIS: 2nd Saturday of the month Skagit ADIS: 3rd Saturday of the month. Please call to schedule.
* Deferred Prosecution is a 2 year program based on WAC 10.05. It is a highly structued program for substance dependent patients who have a DUI. Patients begin treatment with intensive outpatient, graduate to outpatient treatment and then follow up with one year of monitoring.
* Intervention Services are provided by Corky Hundahl, CDP. Corky is trained in both the Stolle and Johnson methods of intervention. Intervention services include family and individual sessions, treatment and placement planning, financial consultation and aftercare.Professional intervention has a high success rate.Remember your loved one does not have to hit bottom to get help!
* Skagit County Mental Health Court Drug and Alcohol Treatment is offered in partnership with Skagit County Community Services and Compass Health Skagit.
