Suboxone....Do you know someone who may be dependent on painkillers? Help is as close as Phoenix Recovery Services, LLC.
In early September of 2008, Phoenix Recovery Services, LLC partnered with three local medical doctors to provide state of the art treatment for opioid dependence. Because opiates are often prescribed for the treatment of pain, they can lead to dependence in some people -- even when they are taken properly. These drugs, along with the illegal drug heroin, can cause significant negative consequences if they are abused. Examples of prescribed opioids that can lead to dependence are Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Codeine, Meperidine, Propoxyphene, Fentanyl and Morphine.
Opioid dependence is a relapsing medical condition that can last for months or even years. Continued use of opioids causes changes in the brain that lead to drug tolerance, physical dependence, cravings and relapse.
Ongoing medical treatment is often needed to help with withdrawal symptoms. People with opioid dependence may be afraid to face the withdrawal symptoms that come when drug use stops. These fears are very real. While some try to stop using drugs on their own, many opioid dependent people need medical treatment and counseling to overcome their dependence and regain control of their lives.
In addition to the medical management of the disease, patients may enter into specialized outpatient treatment services. Treatment services include individual and family counseling, group therapy, alcohol and drug usage screens and pill counts. Counselors with specilized training in opiate dependency are on staff to facilitate this programming.
Suboxone is medication that assists in the recovery efforts of patients addicted to opiates. If you our a loved one is struggling with dependence upon opioids, please give us a call to discuss our Suboxone treatment program.
The suboxone program may be covered by funding through the Department of Social and Health Services
